Afgelopen weekend stonden de 3 nations cup in Saalhausen en de Cyclon ICW MTB zomercompetitie in Assen op het programma.
Vrijdagmiddag zijn Rick, Otto & Tim onder begeleiding van Anne-Jan vertrokken om nog even het parcours te kunnen verkennen in de mooie omgeving van Saalhausen.
In de winter worden hier de latten onder gebonden naar bij aankomst blijkt dat koning winter Saalhausen nog niet is vergeten.
Het gaat een koud rondje worden..
Zondag was voor Micha een thuiswedstrijd.

Na een DNF van vorige week was ik gebrand op een beter resultaat afgelopen zaterdag. Bij de start zat ik net achter een val en kon daardoor een paar plekken opschuiven. Later die ronde kwam ik er achter dat mijn schoen los zat doordat er iemand tegen aan was gereden dus fietsend proberen deze vast te zetten. Daarna was het taak om mijn positie te behouden. Dit was aardig gelukt maar in de laatste bocht nog even een schuivertje gemaakt. P31 voor deze keer. Tevreden maar het smaakt naar meer. Volgende wedstrijd is Havelte kijken hoe het daar gaat🇳🇱!

Zaterdag om 13.15 klonk het startschot voor mijn wedstrijd. Direct bij de start was er een valpartij waar ik net om heen kon en direct veel plekken op geschoven. Na de 1ste ronde kwam ik door rond plek 22. Vanaf toen de wedstrijd gereden met otto. 1 ronde voor t einde kwam ik hard ten val tegen een houten plaat waarbij mijn helm is gescheurd. Toch weer op de fiets en uiteindelijk met een 30ste plaats over de finish gekomen van de 77 nieuwelingen.

Zondag stond de derde wedstrijd van de 3 nations cup op de planning. Vrijdag was ik er al met het team. En gisteren mocht ik rijden om 10 uur. Vanaf de vijfde rij mogen starten. Bij de start was er een steile klim waar ik gelijk wat mensen kon inhalen, ronde bij ronde wat mensen in kunnen halen. De laatste 20 minuten van de wedstrijd zat ik er helemaal doorheen en zat er nog amper tempo in. Deze wedstrijd verliep niet hoe ik het had gehoopt, maar ik weet wel waar ik aan moet werken komende weken. En het seizoen is nog lang. Over 2 weken is er een wedstrijd dichtbij huis, in Havelte hopelijk gaat het dan wat beter.

ICW Assen, een mooie wedstrijd om weer aan de vorm te werken. Na moeizame eerste rondes om een positie te vinden en de kop te volgen op de singletracks, een lekker ritme kunnen vinden in de strijd om p3. Helaas even pech met een tak in de aandrijving, waardoor ik de aansluiting kwijt raakte. Richting het eind van de koers nog wel weer wat dichterbij gekomen, maar niet genoeg om mee te strijden, dus p4.
Was fijn om weer diep te kunnen gaan, zonder pijn of problemen met de rug.

Al met al een geslaagd weekend voor de mannen, in het buitenland maar ook bij de thuis wedstrijd.
De eerste volgende wedstrijd gaat de Koningscup op de Havelterberg zijn op 28 April. Wij kijken er naar uit!
